The Mission
It is our mission to foster the appreciation and enjoyment of the visual and performing arts and cast bells. At the 7th annual ART SPECTACULAR at the Carillon on September 8-9, 2012 this will be done by combining beautiful original artwork by juried artists, in a beautiful park setting, with beautiful music by local musicians and one of the world’s finest carillons – for the sight and sound enjoyment of art lovers in the Central Illinois area.

The Event
Art Spectacular, a fundraiser for the Rees Carillon, is a juried fine art and fine craft fair featuring up to 50 artists with their original artwork for sale in a balanced variety of artistic mediums. It also features patron bucks, local musicians, food vendors, gift basket raffle, silent auction, kids’ art sale; and Kids’ Place. Art Spectacular is held outside on the lawn of beautiful Washington Park, 1740 W. Fayette Avenue & Chatham Road, in Springfield, IL – rain or shine. (See “Directions” page).
Saturday, September 8, 2012 – 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Sunday, September 9, 2012 – 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.
(Held annually on the 2nd weekend of September)
Admission: Art Fair – Free - Kids’ Place - $1.25/child
Free Parking in the Park and surrounding side streets.
Only Service Animals Allowed.

Many volunteers are needed in half-day or full-day shifts to prepare set-up, assist artists, and deliver water; staff gates, gift basket raffle, silent auction, Kids’ Art Sale, Kids’ Place, and the VIP tent; and close-down art fair. Volunteers keep our artists happy and help make this a successful fundraiser for the Rees Carillon.
